Orange “Chicken”
Tofu Ingredients
- 1 block fava bean tofu
- Cornstarch
- Nutritional yeast
- Salt
Sauce ingredients
- Juice of 2 oranges
- Coconut aminos
- 1 Thai chili, sliced on diagonal
- Maple syrup to taste
- Fresh/frozen ginger, micro-planed
- Garlic, crushed or minced
- Cornstarch to thicken
- Salt to taste
Garnish
- Fresh scallion and/or chives, minced
Method
- Mix cornstarch, nutritional yeast & salt in a medium bowl.
- Cube or break tofu into bite sized pieces. Toss in the dry mixture to coat.
- Spritz lightly with oil of choice and air-fry or pan fry until brown.
- Meanwhile, combine sauce ingredients in a small pot. Bring to a simmer and continue to cook until sauce starts to thicken.
- Add sauce to tofu & toss well to coat.
